1. Review

A person materially affected by an institutional decision may request review where the applicable process allows it.

2. Grounds

Review may consider procedural error, material factual error, undisclosed conflict, newly available relevant information or inconsistency with an applicable rule.

3. Reviewer

Where practicable, review should be conducted by a person or body not responsible for the original contested decision.

4. Outcome

The reviewing authority may confirm, vary, return, correct or set aside the decision within its documented authority.

5. Finality

An internal review process does not remove any external legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.
