1. Scope

These rules apply to photographs, video, audio, recordings, interviews, reproductions and other media incorporated into institutional projects, recognition, research, heritage or archive records.

2. Source and rights

Media records should identify source, creator or contributor where known and should not be represented as institutionally owned when ownership belongs elsewhere.

3. Consent and privacy

Use of identifiable persons should respect applicable consent, privacy, publicity and legal requirements, particularly where material is sensitive or not originally created for public distribution.

4. Context

Images and recordings should not be materially altered or presented in a way that falsely changes their documented institutional meaning.

5. Archival preservation

Original or highest-quality available source files should be preserved when the material has archival significance.
